Personalized Halloween Porch Decor

It’s never too early to decorate your porch for spooky season! I’m that typical Halloween mom who’s dusting off her black and orange bins at the beginning of September. That’s why I was so excited to gather up inspiring Halloween porch decor ideas.

If you’re not a Halloween enthusiast like me, don’t worry. I found porches from spooky to sweet and everything in between. Some are more fall-themed, so you can leave up your porch decorations until after Thanksgiving!

Classic Corn Stalks

When decorating for fall and Halloween, you can’t get more traditional than corn stalks and pumpkins. This festive porch, spotted by @calypsointhecountry, features piles of pumpkins and orange mums.

But here’s what really stopped my scrolling: the dried corn stalks attached to the porch columns. They make such a big impact and feel like the perfect classic decoration to ring in the Halloween season.

Spiders and Skeletons, Oh My!

Attack of the spiders! I’m dying to recreate this creepy, crawly Halloween porch by @missemmaedmonds, all the way from Ireland! Giant fuzzy spiders and black skeletons pop against the pale pink stucco, coordinating beautifully with her black front door.

A large white spider web like this one is a nice touch, making it look like the spiders are taking over the house.

Floating Candles

For a more elegant but still spooky take on Halloween porch decor, check out this idea from @therebarhome. Use clear fishing line to hang battery-operated candles from the ceiling to create the illusion they’re floating in midair with Halloween magic.

This kit comes with 12 candles, fishing line, and a magic wand remote control so you can light the candles with a flick of your wrist.

Make It Pink

I have a friend who hates the color orange, so it makes Halloween decorating a challenge. I’m going to tell her about this adorable Halloween porch by @daily_disco done up in pink!

Pink pumpkins piled on the steps and a pink mini pumpkin wreath match perfectly with the pink front door. A swarm of black bats keep the display from being too sweet.

Ombre Porch

Although I love creepy decorations, I know not everyone enjoys them. This pretty ombre porch from @careymbender won’t scare away your neighbors and can be left up all the way through Thanksgiving.

The pumpkins start out green at the bottom of the steps, then blend into whites and bright orange as you get closer to the door. Faux fall trees and an oversized corn husk wreath complete the look.

Witch Hats

Hang witch hats from your porch ceiling for easy and affordable Halloween decor, as seen here from @land_of_littles_. Though this porch is small, she still fit in cute and classic Halloween decor without cluttering the space. Impressive!

Besides the cute witch hats, she’s got a skeleton hanging on the wall, cheerful pumpkins, a friendly ghost and big spiders.

Pumpkin Arch

Creating a pumpkin and corn stalk arch like this one from @keightlahin is easier than you might think. She chose PVC pipe for the base, then attached it to the stone by drilling into the mortar and screwing in eye hooks.

Drill two holes into the back of each craft pumpkin (spray paint them for your own custom color scheme) and fasten to the PVC pipe with zip ties. Attach the corn stalks with zip ties as well. Gorgeous!

Black Trees

I love this project from @ashlee.lauren because it’s easy and cheap, yet makes a big statement on your Halloween porch.

She fashioned spooky black trees from dead branches sprayed with black paint and glitter. They flank the door with just the right amount of creepiness. The hanging skeleton offers the perfect finishing touch. Don’t forget to check out our collection of Halloween door decoration ideas.

DIY Skull Planters

Here’s a fun idea for your porch mums and other fall container gardens. Watch as @houseon610th transforms affordable skull bowls into planters with just a few supplies.

She drills holes for drainage, spray paints the skulls white, then adds a coat of dark wax sealer to create an aged look. Insert your favorite autumn plants and you’re done!

Easy and adorable! Use battery-operated lights so you don’t have to worry about cords creating a tripping hazard.
